Water is the way that many South African flock to as a pass time for holidays, get together and to beat the heat. Most holiday activities involves some form of water whether it is swimming, kayaking, body surfing, fishing, to name a few or just putting your feet in the water. All of these activities carry a risk of drowning if you end up deeper without the necessary skills.
Learning to swim is not only a life skill that most South Africans have never learnt, but opens a whole new world of fun, adventure and place to spend your time.
Feeling confident and safe in water, while having the ability to swim reduces the risk of accidental drowning.
Our learn to swim programme takes place in our enclose heated pool all year round, and is designed to help student achieve their swimming goals quickly. From the very beginner who is fearful of the water to those looking to improve their swimming skills or specific stroke.
Our trained and qualified teacher are in the pool during their lesson to support, guide and instruct students through the curriculum during the lessons.
Lessons are 30min long with the option to do once or twice a week. There are 4 students per teacher in beginner levels and 6 students to a teacher in stroke classes. Lessons are by appointment and run on a set schedule.
During a lesson specific skills are focused on depending on the level and the lesson. All levels have 6 focus area:
- Safety
- Body position
- Legs / Kicking
- Arms
- Breathing
- Technique
